Kasper and Richter made the Alpin PRO Sighting Map Compass with a flip-up prism optic, so you can either use this compass like a standard baseplate with a two-degree resolution rotating bezel, or you can flip up and take a direct bearing reading off of the internal compass card with one-degree resolution and half-degree accuracy. The thermo-elastic capsule flexes so it won't accumulate bubbles when the temperature changes or develop hairline cracks if you accidentally drop the Alpin PRO Compass. Use the clinometer on the reverse side to figure out slope degrees when you're ski touring. *Nylon carry case included.
Suunto height meters are instruments for measuring the heights, especially the height of trees, with great accuracy and speed. The height meters can also be used to determine the angle of a gradient.
Suunto hand-held clinometers are precision instruments used all over the world by surveyors, engineers, cartographers, geologists, miners and architects and many others to measure heights, vertical angles and slopes quickly and easily.
Both height meters and clinometers have sturdy housing bodies made from corrosion resistant anodized aluminum alloy. The scale cards run on special bearings in hermetically sealed plastic containers filled with a liquid which guarantees that they run smoothly and stop quickly.
